The Pro version is installed as a separate plugin package uploaded through the WordPress admin. Before you start, make sure the Free version is already installed and enabled on the site.

Prerequisites

Before installing Pro, ensure you have:

  • Administrator access to your WordPress dashboard
  • Post Views Counter Lite installed and activated
  • Access to your account at postviewscounter.com
  • A valid Pro license for the site

Steps

1. Download the Pro package

  1. Log in to your account on the Post Views Counter website
  2. Open Purchase History
  3. Click View Details and Downloads for your order
  4. Download the Pro ZIP file named similarly to post-views-counter-pro-x-x-x
  5. Do not unzip the file before uploading it to WordPress

2. Upload and activate the plugin

Install the Pro package through the WordPress admin.

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Click Upload Plugin
  3. Select the downloaded ZIP file
  4. Click Install Now
  5. Click Activate Plugin

3. Activate your license

After the plugin is active, go to Post Views > Other > Plugin Status, enter your license key, and save the settings to activate updates and Pro-only features.

4. Confirm the Pro version is available

  1. Check that the Reports tab appears in the Post Views menu
  2. Visit Post Views > Counting > Tracking Behavior and confirm the available counter modes include PHP Mode, JavaScript Mode, REST API Mode, and Fast AJAX
  3. Review Post Views > Counting > Tracking Targets for the additional Pro tracking options

Verification

Confirm your Pro installation is successful:

  1. Check the menu and make sure the Reports tab is visible
  2. Open Plugin Status and confirm your license is active
  3. Visit a post on your site and refresh it once or twice
  4. Check the Views column in Posts > All Posts to confirm counting still works after the Pro install

Now that Pro is installed and activated:

  • Activate the license fully if you have not completed the Plugin Status step yet
  • Configure tracking at Post Views > Counting > Tracking Behavior
  • Set up exclusions at Post Views > Counting > Visitor Exclusions
